Mike plays the electric guitar for Lùnapop
Sport: Mike used to play at a
semi-professional level in soccer. He currently plays midfielder for the National
Singers and is a great goal scorer.
Mike loves big European capitals cities, such as
London and Amsterdam (where they recorded "Un Giorno Migliore")
He adores music by Led Zepplin, Nirvana, and U2.
Mike doesn't have a computer, however, he has 6
guitars.
Lillo: "I knew Mike because
we went to the same driving school. I can remember a couple of lessons where he created
havoc with a friend of his called Spaccioni. I had the impression he was a real hard nut,
not a dumb hick, but definitely a hard nut. Now I know that Mike likes to give the idea
he's a hard man, but in fact he's really a softie with a heart of molten cheese."
"When we were on the cruise
in the Caribbean, we had to share a double bed which was not a pleasant experience as Mike
has a nasty habit of sleeping totally naked."
Cesare: "I had seen Mike
playing the guitar and I thought he was great. He could do just about anything with a
guitar and he definitely had style. I can remember looking at him and thinking - if he
joins the band all our problems are over. He could play any kind of music and I thought
that was fantastic."
"People like Ballo or Mike,
in my opinion, deserve a love story, because underneath they're very sensitive people. But
no dice. Maybe because they don't think in these terms... especially Mike. He had a
relationship with a girl for over 15 years, but now he doesn't want to know at all."
"Mike definitely took the
leading role in preparing the band for its first live show."
"Mike is a very smart guy
but he only uses his brain about 3 minutes a day. He's not really a mean dude even if he'd
like to be. He isn't immature although sometimes the act is so perfect it's hard to tell.
You can talk to Mike about anything because there's not much he hasn't done. He loves
uncalculated risks and he is a real artist, even if he only takes advantage of about a
third of his talent. The best thing about him is that he can say anything to you without
feeling embarrassed and for a head case like him that's important."
Ballo: "When he's asleep,
Mike snores like a beast. He also seriously pisses me off when he screams in the
car."
"Three days before the end
of the cruise in the Caribbean, Mike had only 13 dollars left. So I decided to put all his
money on a number in the casino. Believe it or not we won and Mike picked up a hundred
bucks. The dude went berserk and told the band that he intended to keep half of his
winnings and carry on gambling with the rest. Of course he managed to lose the 50 dollars
in a matter of seconds, which pissed him off so much he decided to chuck the other 50 on
the red. No dice, up came a black and Mike lost the lot. He then turned all his pockets
out, until he found a few Dutch guilders, left over from when we made the "Un giorno
migliore" video. He succeeded in changing it all up and in a few minutes he had lost
that too. That's Mike for you."
Gabriele: "When Mike came into the
class Cesare and I were in, you could tell straightaway he was on the ball, even if it
took a long time before we got to know him. I knew he played the drums and the guitar very
well."
"When we decided to replace
Lollo, Mike came into the studio with two friends, but Walter wasn't very happy about it
and it didn't happen again"
"Mike falls asleep all over
the place with his mouth wide open."
